Day 25 – into Denmark

Pushed on a bit (for me anyway) and made it into Denmark. Using the Shelter app on the phone for a place to camp. 1st one no water tap/pump, 2nd one was not one of the basic campsites, 3rd one had a tap but it wasn’t working. Gave in and just had enough water to get through to the next day, the fire pit was handy and a nice little campfire made the evening better.

Day 24 – Sunday Market

How to shop, at least a bit, in Germany on a Sunday – head to Eckernförd and the market.
Visting the Sunday Market
Might need to be careful where photos are taken as there is a naval base very close by.

Depending on how I go tomorrow might be in Denmark before camping the night.

Day 23 – Maps get out of date

Following a route and came across a small problem

This bridge appears to be going under reconstruction.

At the campsite tonight meet an expat, an old musician who has done some touring, follow his recommendation heading to Eckernförd.

Day 22 – Bad is not Bad

To people from the UK some of the place names in other countries can be a bit strange. Stop at a campsite at Bad Bramstedt, Bad must mean something different in German.

Day 20 – Made it to Hamburg

Making use of the ferry across the Elbe, bikes have there own fee.

Made it into Hamburg eventually, now for a hostel for a couple of nights – change of brake pads as the ones currently in use seem just about dead.

Day 19 – Installing Spring

Sign outside of shop

Saw this outside a creative cafe, thought it very appropriate today as the temperature is having trouble hitting double figures and it’s raining again.

At the campsite tonight a couple of cycle tourists from Australia also turned up. Having two people certainly seems to help with the luggage distribution.

Day 18 – Grass everywhere

Yeah no rain, and the temperature got up 22C. Must remember the sun, arms just a little sensitive tonight.

Camping spot had the grass cut, bits of it getting all over the place.

Day 17 – English Practise

Stopped at a campsite just outside of Bremen – Fancy facilities but the first time I’ve had to leave a €25 refundable deposit for a campsite.

After a quick trip to McDonalds for the wifi – weekly skype with mother – I found a little bar and ended up help a spanish lady practice her English.

Day 16 – Another hut

Took a quick picture of a couple of he trikes while leaving the camping area.

Decided to try another hut tonight. This one had a cycleway/path running just in front of it. So up early in the morning and have eveything packed before the first runner of the day passes by.
